Already have a copy from an earlier version? Download the program again and run it - it skips the copying and fetches the new pictures and the competitions' texts. You can skip the account step.
Before 11 November: prepare yourself
When the official servers go out, what lives only on them is gone: your account, and the pictures and texts the game takes from them. One small program saves all of it on your computer now – free, in a few minutes. The Classic Reserve client comes after 11 November and uses what you saved.

For everybody who owns theHunter Classic on Steam – no account with us and no tester key needed. Windows 10 or 11.
What it does – one button
- It makes a copy of your game folder from Steam on a disk you choose (about 13 GB). The client goes into this copy later.
- It downloads into the copy the game's pictures and texts in all 18 languages that the game itself does not have (about 150 MB). Every file is checked.
- It opens a browser window on the official site: you log in and click “Save my account data”. The program checks that your account was saved whole – every hunt with its details – and tells you so.
- At the end it checks everything itself – the copy against your game in Steam, every picture, the texts and the saved account – and shows a tick or a cross for each. It leaves “Classic Reserve - report.txt” in the copy; “Repair” fetches only what is missing.
Important: it saves your account as it is at that moment – it is not a link. Whatever you buy, hunt or unlock on the official servers afterwards is not in the saved file. If you keep playing there, save your account again shortly before 11 November (run “Download game pictures.exe” in the copy and click “Save my account again”).
Copying the game takes a few minutes, the pictures well under a minute on a normal connection. Saving the account depends on how many hunts you have: a few minutes for a long career.
Safe
- Your Steam installation is only read, never changed – you can keep playing on the official servers until the end.
- You type your password on the official site only. The program never sees it.
- Nothing is sent to us. The pictures, the texts and your account stay on your computer, in the copy.
- There is no client in it yet: nothing hooks into the game before 11 November.
After 11 November
Download the Classic Reserve installer and choose the folder of the copy: it adds the client and keeps everything you saved. Keep the folder until then.

If something goes wrong
- Windows may say it does not know the publisher: choose “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
- Browser warning: Chrome and Edge may say the file "is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous". That is what they say about any new program few people have downloaded yet. Open the downloads list and choose to keep the file (in Chrome: "Download suspicious file").
- Something failed, or you closed a window? Run “Download game pictures.exe” in the copy: it fetches only what is missing and checks your account again.
